There is a unique energy whenever a new school year begins. Students and teachers alike feel both excitement for what is to come and anxiety about the unknown. While this feeling comes every year, I sense an even greater surge of excitement as we embark on this historic year for Logos Prep. There is a tangible buzz in the air.

So, what is new and what lies ahead? To begin, we have more students on campus than ever before. While enrollment has grown across all divisions, our elementary department is seeing the greatest impact, highlighted by a 14% increase in students for grades 3–6. We love seeing this growth, as the earlier students join LP, the greater the opportunity we have for meaningful partnership and long-term impact.

Sixth grade experienced the most dramatic growth, with a 27% enrollment increase. As we prepare to transition sixth grade into our junior high program for the 2027–28 school year, we are thrilled to see such strong momentum in the middle grades.

In 2027-28, sixth through eighth grade students will meet Monday, Wednesday, Friday on the second floor of the new school building. Junior high teachers have spent the last two years exploring ways to create the most ideal environment for middle school students to thrive. While some of the strategies have been implemented even in our current space, we cannot wait to provide junior high with space specifically planned for them.

Construction is progressing right on schedule. The foundation should be poured in August, and we expect to gain occupancy of the gym by mid-September. As construction advances, you will see the site fencing adjusted to allow direct access to the Faith Lutheran parking lot from the Bridge parking lot.

Traffic flow for Brooks Street carpool and parking will improve significantly once these fences are relocated. Until then, we deeply appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Moving the fences will also benefit our student-athletes, who are currently practicing on a field lovingly prepared over the summer by Coach Allen, Coach Murff, and several generous volunteers. Because the previous practice field sits on the new building site and the permanent replacement field is not yet constructed, finding space presented a challenge for both football and soccer. We are immensely grateful for the hard work and ingenuity of our coaches in creating a solution for the 2026–27 season.

Growth is good, and our new campus will be wonderful. However, even positive change brings its share of challenges. As your students begin this new academic year, you may feel that tension as well. Each year marks a vital step in their journey, bringing new opportunities alongside new vulnerabilities and expectations. My encouragement to you is to remember that good things are happening. While challenges will arise, so too will great blessings. God is at work in all things and He has good plans for your children.
